Meet Catkin! Catkin was found as a stray and taken to one of our county shelter partners. The Good Samaritan that found Catkin kept her for a few days before taking her to the county shelter and said that Catkin was very well behaved during her stay and that she loved, loved to run in her fenced yard.
This sweetheart is simply beautiful inside and out and she hasn’t met a stranger. Catkin is between 1-2 years old and although we have her listed at a German Shepherd (most definitely GSD eyes:))/Husky mix, we did have a local vet and his wife, who has competed in many dog events, tell us when they met Catkin that they thought she could also be part Canann Dog, a dog that is really not seen very often in the area, but hey, you never know and we can definitely see the resemblance.
Being young and most likely part Husky, this blonde bombshell has plenty of energy to burn. For those of you Husky experts out there, you know exactly what we mean :). Catkin will benefit from a home that plans to enroll her in positive based obedience training along with a lot of options for her to reach her daily exercise quota. Options might include a fenced yard along with a doggie playmate; doggie daycare, agility training along with long walks/slow jogs. Catkin is super smart and loves playing games that challenge her mentally…the girl loves to “work” for treats or praise alone. She’s very happy to please.
Catkin also loves her people time and can never seem to get enough head scratches or butt rubs:). One look into those incredible amber eyes and she will have you rubbing her head and scratching her butt in no time.
