Indigenous representation is super scarce in childrenโs programming, and Indigenous heroines pretty much non-existent. With this summerโs launch of Molly of Denali, PBS is aiming to change that. Molly of Denali was thoughtfully and proudly created with an Alaska Native working group of Indigenous screenwriters, producers, production teams, advisers, and even Alaska Native children, who are featured in the showโs live-action interstitials, teaching young viewers about their way of life, all of which imbues the series with true authenticity.
